About Open Mike Productions
We are a British independent television production company, well known for its comedy entertainment formats. We have produced long-running popular formats such as Live At The Apollo, The Last Leg and Alan Carr: Chatty Man, as well new and exciting formats such as Wonders of the World I Can’t See with Chris McCausland. We also produced scripted comedies written by and starring Jack Dee: Lead Balloon, which ran from 2007 to 2011 on BBC Four and Bad Move, which ran from 2017 to 2018 on ITV. We also produced a raft of stand up shows other than Live at the Apollo. Among them is Channel 4’s Comedy Gala, an annual, one-off stand-up fundraiser for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity ran six specials from the O2 Arena. It raised millions of pounds over the course of its run. We also produced a number of funny documentaries such as the award-winning Jon Richardson: A Little Bit OCD for Channel 4 where the comedian investigated his own mental health. As well as a number of Rich Hall documentaries for BBC Four, where he explored the USA and it’s many quirks. We also made radio comedy for many years across BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 4 including: Alan Carr’s Comedy Outings, Jason Manford and Friends, Jimmy Carr’s Comedy Cuts, Vic Reeves’ House Arrest, Hal by Hal Cruttenden, Kerry’s List by Kerry Godliman and Shappi Talk by Shappi Khorsandi.
