About Open Mind School
Open Mind School is a nonprofit 501(C) (3) lab school in pursuit of high-quality research on learning. OMS goes beyond the scope of traditional public and private schools. Our focus is on accessibility and inclusion, curriculum development, research, professional development, and educational experimentation for the purpose of supporting the community as a resource supporting the improvement of learning for all children. The OMS waitlist highlights the growing demand for a placement where all children can learn, play, and communicate together with appropriate support. OMS collaborates with local universities as a practicum site, supplemental practicum site, and with internships opportunities. OMS has developed a model backed by research to measure the impact, allowing policy makers to rethink the allocation of funding and how education is addressed to meet the changing demographic of learners. OMS relevance surpasses the classroom walls to a scale impact that could change the school districts, private placements, and education for our counties, state, and country. OMS has been well received by the community and partners with local businesses to consult on inclusion and accessibility. Open Mind School is a proud recipient of a Yahoo Partnership Grant.
