About Open Property Data Association

The UK’s property data is held across a multitude of government departments, local authorities, and private institutions without a common structure, format or trust framework to enable sharing. We're solving this through collaboration on open data and technology standards and driving industry adoption Until recently, we didn’t have a published trust framework or a common set of data and technology standards that we all work to. The participants of the Home Buying Selling Group – who are a voluntary collaboration including DLUHC, HM Land Registry, Geospatial Commission, trade associations, and representatives from across the property industry – worked together to create the Property Data Trust Framework and to implement the data and technology standards needed to support an Open Property Data ecosystem. Our members were some of the first companies to create and contribute to the Property Data Trust Framework and to adopt the standards in their own software solutions before creating this group to promote open property data and a shared trust framework across government and industry. Everything contained in our schema is open source and free to use for everyone.
