Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless believes that every Minnesotan should be free from hunger and homelessness. We make an impact by partnering with those who serve people in need, growing donor engagement and increasing awareness. Since 1986, we have focused solely on ensuring that Minnesotans have their most basic of needs met: Food. Shelter. Safety. Our guiding principle has always been to give where the need is greatest. We do that by focusing our support on the front end of the continuum – people who are currently experiencing food and/or housing insecurity. Despite vigorous and targeted efforts to reduce hunger and homelessness, and despite many individual success stories, people depend on food shelves and shelters every day. Open Your Heart ensures that front line providers of crisis services have the tools, equipment, and infrastructure necessary to conduct their work.
