About Opening Doors
We at Opening Doors are not only focused on today, but on your child's tomorrow. We believe that positivity and confidence-building are just as important as reading and spelling. We take a team approach at developing your child through communication, education, and encouragement. With one-on-one tutoring we not only educate your child, but get to know them on a personal level. This builds trust, which leads to effective learning. We use the Barton Orton Gillingham system, which has been proven to be very effective and one of the leading programs for students with dyslexia. All tutors are trained and/or certified to deliver this material and we are continuously assessing our students' progress. We do monthly newsletters that are emailed to the parents, quarterly zoom meetings, and maintain an open door policy of communication. Our emails and phone numbers are available to each of our students and their families who can contact us at any time. Our students become a part of the team through an active approach at learning and demonstrating accountability.
