About Operational K9 Medical Team of Wisconsin
About Us Dr. Lisa Converse (f.k.a. Peters), Lyn Schuh CVT, & Kris Eggleston CVT, are the core group and founders of the Operational K9 Medical Team of Wisconsin. Along with the assistance of Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Canine Trainers, and various members from the Human Medical Community, they have been educating K9 law enforcement handlers across the State of Wisconsin on prehospital medical care for their K9 partners for over a decade. Recently, they have added Search and Rescue, Military K9 Teams, EMS Personnel and Firefighters to their training sessions. The training classes range from basic handling skills of K9s to advance life-saving procedures using scenario-based training. Please refer to our Education page for a detailed list of what is covered in our classes. We are excited to offer on going "Kit Checks", we will go over your Vest-a-Dog First Aid Kit or if you have not received it yet, help you establish a first aid kit. This will be by appointment at our Oshkosh office and at on site trainings. In addition, the team advocates for prehospital care legislation and was actively involved in the passage of Wisconsin Senate Bill 435. Our Mission The Mission of the Operational K9 Medical Team of Wisconsin is to provide prehospital care education and support for those assisting injured Operational K9’s throughout the State of Wisconsin. Our Vision To be the leading resource on education and legislative advocacy for law enforcement, firefighters, EMS personnel, and medical professionals on prehospital care of Operational K9’s in the State of Wisconsin.
