Who We Are: Optimal Greening is a non-profit organization committed to delivering environmental sustainability solutions focused on energy, waste and water. Our vision: To restore dignity to Africans in disadvantaged or marginalized communities through access to clean water, energy, cooking, sanitation and improved waste management services. Our Why? • Environment: Reduce environmental pollution associated with poor WASH, especially in disadvantaged and rural communities • Health: Reduce high incidence of waterborne and enteric diseases linked to lack of access to clean water and sanitation facilities • Social: Alleviate poverty and advance socio-economic development for low-income populations through access to basic WASH services • Women and Girls: Reduce adverse impacts of poor WASH on education and productivity; and lower risk of gender-based violence • Children: Improve health indicators for stunting, severe wasting, morbidity and mortality, particularly for children under 5 years • Sustainable Development: Support advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Our Programs... We develop and implement environmental sustainability projects to meet the needs of underserved communities: • WASH: Our foundational program focuses on increasing access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services via sustainable solutions for economic empowerment of rural and disadvantaged communities • WECCO: Women Empowered with Clean Cooking Options addresses environmental, health and social issues associated with lack of access to Clean Cooking Fuels and Technologies, to improve well-being within rural and marginalized communities • CERC: Clean Energy for Rural Communities focuses on the electrification of rural communities through the deployment of Renewable Sources of Energy including solar and waste to energy technologies
