Optirite had small beginnings in suburb South of Johannesburg, called Ridgeway. I qualified at Rand Afrikaans University - now called UJ - in 1998, and took the scary, but exciting decision to open Optirite 3 years later. The practice grew and evolved over the next 24 years. Working with special needs children during those years, was one of the greatest motivating factors for becoming the best I could be in my work. It was a bitter-sweet time when I proudly put my “baby” into new owners’ hands. I continue to be humbled by, and grateful for the way in which strangers become clients, and ultimately become treasured friends. Estelle and MadamAs bikers, my husband and I often did breakfast runs to Harties, and it didn’t take long before we fell in love with the area and followed the call to move to the dam with our doggie-kids. It was a long-held dream of mine to have a practice on the western side of the dam and finally a position became available in November 2015. I simply adore beautiful frames, and am at my happiest when people spend time trying on frames to their heart's desires. We aim to keep your frame choice unique, and order only one item of a certain model and colour.
