About Oracle Egg

Oracle Egg's mission is to facilitate the incubation of new and ambitious work by both emerging and established artists in the field of experimental music performance. We provide the space and resources for artists who do not have the support of large arts institutions to realize complex work that would be impossible to develop in a conventional venue setting. Our goal is to create a nexus for boundary-pushing work in downtown Los Angeles for both artists and audiences. Oracle Egg inhabits a 3,000 square-foot loft located in Downtown LA's Fashion District, run by two active musicians who understand the needs of working artists. Central to our mission is the Broiler residency series, in which we grant a select number of artists 3-7 days of unrestricted access to the space to develop a new work, culminating in a performance. We provide vital support outside that of a traditional institution, including time, space, collaboration and documentation. We foster a creative synergy between the resident and the venue to facilitate, artist-to-artist, a cross pollination of ideas. Additionally, we provide professional video and audio documentation of every Broiler residency, which is so essential in an artist's search for future opportunities.
