About Ordinarie Heroes
Ordinarie Heroes (OH) is a Black-led nonprofit dedicated to uplifting youth and strengthening the communities they call home. Our mission is to create a holistic ecosystem of care for young people from historically marginalized communities through education, mental health support, leadership development, and access to essential resources. The “IE” in our name stands for I’m Enough, a daily affirmation that reflects our belief that every young person has the power to lead, create, and advocate for a brighter future. At the heart of OH is our commitment to walking with young people every step of the way as they navigate challenges and reimagine what is possible for their futures. Our youth services, supporting ages 11–24, are designed to provide consistent mentorship, leadership training, and creative outlets that help young people thrive. These include leadership development workshops, college and career guidance, one-on-one mentorship, youth roundtables, and a creative photography and filmmaking program. Beyond youth development, our S.O.W. Hope Mobile Pantry and Farm address food insecurity in North Philadelphia by providing fresh food and resources to families in need. Together, these initiatives distribute over 25,000 pounds of food annually while also offering nutrition education and sustainable living practices. By walking alongside youth and serving more than 2,000 individuals each year, OH ensures that immediate needs are met while creating pathways for long-term success and stronger communities.
