About Organization of Latin American Students (OLA)

We as Latino/a/x Leaders at Dominican University acknowledge and recognize that cohesiveness, true influence, and social change comes from diversity, inclusion, and the willingness to change. We endeavor to promote awareness, within and beyond the Latinx community, that incorporates all facets of our culture rooted in Indigenous, African, and European ancestry. It is our mission to promote political, social, cultural, ethnic, and professional awareness that furthers the progression of the Latinx community on both collegiate and community levels. We aim to accomplish this through the union of both Latinxs and other students interested in Latinx culture. Through our collaborative efforts we can ensure the appreciation, promotion, and prosperity of our diverse heritages. OLA is an organization that cultivates leadership values and is the foundation of the next generation of Latinx Leaders. We are here to bring forth and foster future leaders by acknowledging, encouraging, and further developing the leadership qualities of its members. OLA is always more than happy to welcome new members and new ideas!
