Oriel Design Limited is an Architectural Practice based in Cardiff but working throughout Wales and the South of England. The business was established as a partnership in 1989 and then incorporated as a Limited Company in 2003. The directors pride themselves on the quality of their service and designs, but are also keenly aware of commercial realities and the need to work within present day programmes and budgets. The practice’s workload is varied and includes Commercial, Industrial, Residential, Social and Listed Building works, all of which have been carried out for Public and Private Bodies. Projects are managed by one of the Directors from inception through to completion. Client satisfaction and good design are of paramount importance and awards received include a Prince of Wales Design Award. As Architects, Oriel Design takes the role of lead consultant on most of the projects undertaken. Some commissions for the Welsh Development Agency, South Wales Police Authority, Dyfed Powys Police Authority and University of Glamorgan are gained as ‘Team Bids’ whereby Oriel is the team leader and engages other consultants to provide a full service to the client. The success of these projects underlines the practices commitment to working as a team member ensuring a collective responsibility to provide the client with a comprehensive and effective service.
