About Orphans Know More

Our Mission is to build community to strengthen families caring for orphaned and vulnerable children. Orphans Know More breaks the cycle of poverty, invests in education and promotes sustainable development. A Face: A child is not a number or a statistic. OKM assists children and families to be seen uniquely; each person facing their own loss and finding restoration of hope together. A Family: OKM works to strengthen Ugandan families adopting children and supporting vulnerable families. OKM works to support families, so that institutions are not needed. Some of the ways we support families are through; improving housing, provide clean water, creating access to medical treatment, empowering families to create sustainable food sources and, the utilization of appropriate technology. A Future: OKM assists and equips families and children to develop their potential. We do this by sponsoring education for all children at primary, secondary and vocational levels. Children are amazingly resilient but repeated suffering, tragedy and loss can crush hopes and aspirations for a future. OKM works with trauma and grief counsellors and a social worker to provide care and equip children and their families with the tools to regain their hope and develop their God-given potential.
