A CENTURY OF ACCURACY IN SOUND In October 2018 Ortofon celebrated 100 years of engineering and acoustics. Reaching 100 years is an accomplishment that Ortofon wants to bring into focus. Today Ortofon A/S is a fine mechanical powerhouse, which develops, manufactures and markets the world acclaimed Ortofon cartridges and components for the hearing aids industry. Ortofon is privately owned, financially prosperous Danish company that employs a staff of 100 people. The manufacturing unit in Nakskov in the south of Denmark has experienced operators, engineers and technicians combined with modern machinery. Ortofon has developed significantly over the last 15 years and currently is in a phase where the use of the advanced technologies has opened for new business opportunities within the Medical industry. The company's growth strategy is based on a platform of fine-mechanical competences, a culture of innovation and development of people. Currently Ortofon A/S and DTU Mechanical Engineering are working in close collaboration to provide an all-round, comprehensive and specialized training in micro manufacturing within the European Innovative Training Network MICROMAN. The implementation of the MICROMAN project lies within the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme Horizon 2020 (2014 - 2020). It promises more breakthroughs, discoveries and world-firsts by taking great ideas from the lab to the market.
