Oscar Nespoli Design is an international professional management and educational services consultancy based on the core discipline of design. "The strength of creative design is in its domain independence and universality." Oscar Nespoli 2018 Design strategies, principles and methods can be effectively applied in many domains, including business, science, health, industrial services, music and the arts. Oscar Nespoli practised design for over 25 years and then taught and researched it for over 15 years as a faculty member at one of Canada's top engineering schools. He found that a need existed to bring this important design knowledge, coaching artistry and studio pedagogy more directly to industry and professional practice, founding Oscar Nespoli Design Inc. upon his retirement from the university. His knowledge and experience is based on many successful design projects in industry prior to joining the university and then coaching his students (and industry partners) as they tackled tough problems in industry. His academic knowledge is based on research with world-renowned design researchers using data gathered in authentic professional practice contexts. He has provided expert advice to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry for Canada on innovation policy specifically with respect to the importance and means of providing for dedicated funding across all three major funding agencies for design research in Canada.
