OSOTIMBER are well versed in most construction disciplines whether it be traditional Green Oak framing, Softwood/Stick Framing, Passivhaus, SIPs, Hybrid, Engineered timber (I-beam), Glulam, and even Steel where required. Our core focus and area of expertise is in the design and detailing of timber frames, of which we are passionate about. We design in a 2 & 3 dimensional workspace, utilising a specialist German Design Software which provides us with the ability to directly export our framing components (with millimetre tolerant detailing) to the numerous CNC production facilities around the UK, Europe and Worldwide. The benefits of CNC production can be significant and are not to be underappreciated. Those benefits include: time saving, waste reduction, precision engineered components (what you see is what you get) and more. Though most of our projects involve a high tech approach, we very much value retaining traditional heritage craftsmanship, often providing a design service for seasoned framers and enthusiastic DIYers alike. It’s a perfect marriage of cutting edge 21st century technology with an age-old tradition of building with timber.
