About Our Neighborhood Child Development Center
Our Neighborhood is a relationship based early childhood program serving children ages zero to eight. We have children from infants to age three in our Infant Toddler Village and children from age three to 2nd grade (age eight) in the Learning Studio. We are a NAEYC accredited program inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia and hold strong our values conscious connection, value-based decision making, authenticity, mutual respect, and free choice. We are also inspired by the work of Magda Gerber (RIE or Resources for Infant Educarers) and Dr. Becky Bailey (Conscious Discipline). As early childhood educators we are dedicated to understanding and supporting young children's developing brains. We believe children deserve respect and support as they learn and grow on their own timetable. We believe that children learn best through play, through engaging with the world around them. Our mission is to create a world in which all children and adults are treated with respect, and viewed as whole, important, and competent. At Our Neighborhood we have built a learning community for both children and adults. We are a resource for parents, aiming to be partners with families on their journey with children. We are always looking for reflective, engaged individuals who are passionate about working with children to support us as we start a ripple effect of respect and connection.
