About Our World 2050

Our World 2050 is a high-impact, global initiative empowering 1 million children worldwide to imagine and create their version of a sustainable future by 2050. By amplifying children’s voices and unlocking their imagination and creativity, we are building a powerful movement that transforms ideas into action for a sustainable, inclusive and livable world. Our mission is to engage and empower children worldwide to share their dreams, hopes, and ideas for the future – and help them shape and share their visions in ways that inspire action. We educate and empower, we create global conversations, we collect and analyze children’s perspectives, and we communicate their voices to decision-makers and communities so that their hopes and ideas can become a driving force for a more sustainable future. Our vision is a world where all children – regardless of where they live – have future hope and a voice in shaping the future and the opportunity to create the world they dream of. A sustainable, just, and inspiring future, shaped by children’s hopes, ideas, and actions – for the benefit of themselves, the planet, and future generations. We cannot solve the world’s problems with the same thinking we used when we created them (Albert Einstein). Children possess unique perspectives – free from the limitations of existing systems – which allow them to think creatively and dream boldly. By involving children in shaping the future, we foster a sense of citizenship, responsibility, and empowerment. Our World 2050 engages children and youth aged 6-21 from diverse backgrounds across the globe. By cooperating with schools, communities, and local organizations, we ensure that children from underserved regions and marginalized groups are equally represented. In Our World 2050 we place children’s voices at the center of our global sustainability efforts and empower children to be co-creators of the world they will one day inherit.
