About Outdoor Oasis Design & Build

Gilson Landscape Designs is an idea born out of a love for the outdoors, a passion for helping people live better lives, and a desire to create. After competing in and winning the 3D Exterior Design event at the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) National Collegiate Landscape Competition in 2017, Tyler Gilson decided to put his design knowledge and skills to good use. Upon winning the event, he received a professional Vectorworks Landmark license and began designing residential landscapes for friends, family friends, and small landscaping companies throughout Michigan. After winning the competition again in 2018, Tyler decided to really focus on building Gilson Landscape Designs into a business. Creating a Twitter and a website, Tyler plans on writing a blog to help homeowners care for and enhance their landscapes and to showcase some of his design work. As a graduate of Michigan State University with a B.S. Degree in Horticulture and a concentration in Landscape Design, Construction, and Management, Tyler possesses a wealth of knowledge not only in plant material and design, but also in construction of designs and the Landscape Industry as a whole. As a student member of NALP, he has been able to keep up with the goings on in the industry while earning his degree. Gilson Landscape Designs is proud to offer innovative solutions to complex landscape problems and we look forward to working with you in hopes of creating your very own outdoor oasis!
