About Outliers Publishing
In July 2013, Dr. John Shufeldt published a book called Ingredients of Outliers: A Recipe for Personal Achievement, to not only explain how people become successful, but help empower people to achieve more than they thought was possible. Shortly after its release, Dr. Shufeldt was invited to speak at two local schools, and it was clear that the engagement between the book and middle school to high school educators as well as pre-teen to young adult students was strong. Teachers began incorporating the book into their curriculum, but needed to adapt it a bit to help their students better understand the advanced leadership concepts. After becoming aware of the great need for good leadership materials for students to learn and teachers to teach, John began writing Ingredients of Young Outliers: Achieving Your Most Amazing Future. This book reaches reading levels from middle school to high school, with advanced concepts for close reading and critical analysis, and an accompanying set of teacher curriculum is now available. With the birth of multiple offerings, thus began the Outlier Series. Once Dr. Shufeldt nailed down what was lacking in his own early life as a leader, he decided on a theme of "mentorship" for the rest of the series. The Outlier Series will include 12 books, on subjects like Medicine, Law, Entertainment, and Sports, with featured outliers who are standouts in their field. These books will provide exclusive interviews with outliers, action guides and targeted resources for those looking for the best channels into an industry. Unique from the rest of the series, is a book Dr. Shufeldt started to write in response to the lack of contemporary books about women’s accomplishments. To learn more about the women featured in the book, and how they overcame gender stereotypes to rise to new heights in their industry, state and even making a worldwide impact, visit: http://www.ingredientsofoutliers.com/outlier_series/women-game-changers/.
