Mitglieder müssen eine ÖVS-zertifizierte Ausbildung nachweisen und ihr Können alle drei Jahre erneut überprüfen. Die ÖVS verfügt über Vertretungen in allen Bundeländern und ist Mitbegründer des europäischen Dachverbands ANSE (Association of National Organisations for Supervision in Europe), wodurch sie federführend an der qualitativen Entwicklung von Supervision, Coaching und Organisationsberatung/-entwicklung in Europa beteiligt ist.
