About Oxford Biopigments
Oxford Biopigments is an innovative start-up that uses biological molecules, with functionality evolved by nature, to address challenges within the bioeconomy/circular economy. By working with molecules that already posses the properties and characteristics demanded by consumers we are helping to transition our partners from petrochemical derived components to sustainable alternatives that offer improved performance. Natural pigments and dyes are vastly more sustainable than synthetic but are difficult to work with and don't meet the quality standards required by modern consumers and brands. We have created a natural dye which is compatible with industrial dyeing processes, fully organic and sustainable, and meets the quality requirements of modern textiles. By understanding how nature delivers functional colours we have developed a technology that provides the sustainability of a natural product with outstanding technical performance.
