About Oxford Media & Business School
We are an independent higher education college offering the Professional Business Diploma as a university alternative. We are ideal for young people looking to fast-track a career within just three terms rather than three years. Our nine-month diploma teaches young people aged 18 upwards the advanced workplace skills they need to start any role in any business sector. We teach practical hands-on skills employers want across the modules of advanced IT, business and communication, digital marketing and event management. We also support students with development of their soft skills through our personal development planning module. Students will gain insights into what career is right for them through Myers Briggs personality profiling, get support with CV writing and experience mock interviews to develop their confidence ready for entering employment. The atmosphere here at OMBS is warm and supportive with students who enjoy a balance between the intensity of the three-year Professional Business Diploma course and the university student lifestyle in the city of Oxford. Unlike university education, our students are taught in small classrooms for over 20 hours per week, and our tutors deliver excellent pastoral care. Students come to OMBS for many reasons. They may want to start their career early due to the cost of university, or not know what to study and want more time to make a decision. They may already have graduated from uni and want an additional set of skills to help them stand out when applying for employment roles. Our ambitions for our students are wide-ranging. As well as acquiring the all-important technical skills we also know that soft skills are equally important. Each year we look forward to seeing our students graduate at the end of the course confident and inspired for their future. We offer regular Open Days for prospective students and their families to come and find out more about us and the course.
