About P.A.W.S (People & Animals Wellbeing Sanctuary)

Norwich based not-for-profit social enterprise, People & Animals Wellbeing Sanctuary (P.A.W.S) evidences that the Human-Animal Bond provides a solution to the key social issue of poor wellbeing in our communities, people and animals. Through our innovative encounters of the Human-Animal Bond, we support and work with both people and animals who are facing adversity, that negatively impacts their wellbeing. Our aim for our human service users is to improve mental and physical health, combat loneliness and isolation, aid social and educational development and promote psychological well being. Our aim for our animal service users is exactly the same, plus the provision of a home at our sanctuary. Our services and charitable project focus on working with local people, providing Animal Related Interventions and Activities for all age groups, in ways that are educational , therapeutic, and develop social and practical skills. We also work with specified animal species, and through education, application and promotion of Animal Care and the Five Freedoms of AniMal Welfare. MISSION: To improve the wellbeing of both people and animals in our communities by combating a lack of connection between the two, through educational, therapeutic and developmental animal related intervention’s and activities. VISION: To increase our communities wellbeing by: 1. encouraging, inspiring and enabling people engage in animal related interventions and activities 2. to educate of best practice animal care, with a particular focus on pet care 3. Creating a caring community where people and animals are integrated and mutually benefit from positive encounters and experiences with each other.
