Painter Pals is a trauma-informed, culturally-rooted creative mental health organization. We use art, storytelling, and identity-affirming experiences to help children process emotions, build resilience, and reclaim joy. We work across classrooms, clinics, and communities—delivering healing-focused programming that’s visually expressive, clinically informed, and culturally relevant. Our core programs include: 🖍 SIBSIM (Sound in Body, Sound in Mind): A creative SEL curriculum blending visual journaling, painting, and storytelling for schools 🌱 Rooted in Resilience: Intergenerational public art + garden projects to restore trust and beauty in underserved neighborhoods 🏥 Sanctuary Studios: In-hospital sensory art environments for children facing long stays or serious diagnoses 🍎 The Teachers Lounge: Trauma-informed toolkits, classes, and wellness support for educators and caregivers Painter Pals kits and curricula are now used in: - Pediatric hospitals and child life programs - Title I schools and trauma-impacted classrooms - Community centers, juvenile programs, and healing spaces nationwide We’ve seen: - 34% reduction in school behavioral incidents - 90% of caregivers report improved communication through art - 5,000+ healing kits distributed across the U.S. We are still growing—expanding our offerings, building new creative wellness programs, and launching a subscription-based platform to bring culturally affirming art and emotional learning tools into even more homes, schools, and clinics.
