About Painting a Brighter Future for Women
A cultural painting project designed to benefit extraordinary women throughout the globe. It began in 2007 with the creation of a fundraising series of original oil paintings of the native people of northern Kenya in partnership with The Boma Project www.bomaproject.org, and is being expanded in 2011 to include other areas of the developing world, including Bhutan in the fall of 2011. Relationships with effective organizations will be developed in each of the countries that will direct the donations from the sale of the original oil paintings, and fine art giclee reproductions from these images, toward programs that will benefit the empowerment of women. The intention of the project is to have a lasting positive effect on their lives and to communicate through my artwork the dignity, value, resilience, and diversity of these women and their cultures.
