THE first full fledged website dedicated the the art of sneaker customization. Established in February 2009 by Brandon Laskowski, PaintOrThread has been the only sneaker site to focus solely on the happenings in the world of custom sneakers and sneaker customizers. Featuring new custom art work, interviews with customizers, how to information and more. Brandon began customizing in the early 2000s, building a name online and selling his work all over the world under the moniker Evolved-Footwear. He has seen the hobby change from a few guys sharing work online to guys and gals carving out their own niche art form. The work shared on PaintOrThread is carefully curated focusing on sharing all around high quality work based on a strict criteria of areas like execution, originality, cleanliness, and presentation. All of the content is gathered from independent artists all over the world taking sneakers in their factory form and giving them an entirely new identity through different mediums. The title of the site is a reference to the two main forms of customizing: painting and reconstruction, whose respective building blocks to create are paint and thread. PaintOrThread is made for the customer that wants their own custom sneakers, those who want to start sneaker customizing, those that have been customizing sneakers for years, or just those that enjoy looking at one of a kind wearable art.
