Pakruojis manor distillery was restored in 2016 and is dedicated to producing some of the most traditional spirits of the Baltic region, but with new methods and a new vision. Our distillery maintains old production methods lead by expert craftsmanship, so that based on tradition and innovations, grains and botanicals are turned into high quality distillates. Pakruojis manor’s experienced craftsmen put all their hart and soul into producing drinks with family-traditions that go back several centuries. These spirit drinks are distilled from plants, herbs and fruits picked locally in the surrounding area of the distillery. We distil spirits in our hand-made, authentic, wood-burning distillation copper pots. After setting a fire to heat them up, we start the same process of producing liquors that was used several hundred years ago. Handcrafted production is carried out in small batches of 200-300 litres. No computers or robots are used to control maceration or distillation processes. This traditional method that requires considerable experience helps preserve intensity of flavours, maintain the diversity, and gives the distillates an great aftertaste.
