PAKTLI means JOY in Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs. The owner, Seena Chriti, grew up in Mexico eating ALEGRIAS (which also means JOY! In Spanish), a snack dating to the 16th century made from puffed amaranth and honey or chocolate. She wanted to recreate my childhood snack in the US, with the highest quality, all natural organic ingredients, that include puffed amaranth, quinoa and millet, chocolates, and whole dried fruits and nuts. The packaging was designed in Mexico and is inspired by the colorful fabrics and textiles from Oaxaca. All our paktli are certified organic and gluten-free; we have some vegan and soy-free options; and there are never any additives or preservatives. The perfect snack on the go, and a better-for-you wholesome dessert. PAKTLI is a culturally rich snack geared towards the adventurous food lover who appreciates other cultures and is inquisitive. We sell at 70+ independent coffee shops and gourmet stores. We are a minority and women-owned certified business, and I have a team of 7 Latino women that have been producing 3000 pieces in one day. We are now launching our Paktli Alegria Bites in a resealable pouch with double the amount of product and an increased capacity for a larger footprint for retailers within the natural channel.
