About Palabritas Learning
Palabritas Learning (which means little words in Spanish) is a space designed to help children acquire Spanish naturally through play, immersion, and multisensory experiences. With an intercultural approach, it not only teaches the language but also nurtures curiosity and appreciation for the diverse cultures behind it. We offer age-specific programmes designed to meet children where they are developmentally: ➡️ Early Years (ages 1 to 5): Babies and preschoolers attend the sessions with an adult in a nurturing environment. These sessions are fully immersive in Spanish, but no previous knowledge of the language is required. Families are gently guided through songs, games, movement, and storytelling that support early communication, bonding, and language acquisition. ➡️ Primary Years: For school-aged children, we offer after-school programmes in local schools. These sessions continue to use playful and interactive methods to reinforce comprehension and spoken Spanish in a fun, meaningful way. Our methodology is rooted in the principles of early childhood education and second language acquisition, integrating insights from neuroeducation, play-based learning, and storytelling to create a fun, effective, and meaningful learning experience. Why start early? Research shows that the ideal window for language learning is before the age of 7, when the brain is most adaptable. During this stage, children can absorb a second language in a way that feels natural and intuitive, often developing pronunciation and understanding close to that of native speakers. But why Spanish? Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world, with 21 countries across multiple continents. Learning Spanish opens doors to vibrant cultures and also builds a strong foundation for learning other Romance languages such as French, Italian, and Portuguese.
