About Pali Institute

Pali Institute is a rigorous, fast-paced and fun outdoor education program that constantly strives to develop exciting outdoor curriculum for students in grades 4-12. Our instructors teach different students every week in a variety of classes within the disciplines of science, outdoor education and leadership training courses. Pali strives to be an excellent educational supplement to classroom-based education and is proud to meet many California, Nevada & Arizona State Standards with our science curriculum. Pali Institute holds the honor of being the only outdoor education program to be accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges). We discuss a broad array of topics from geology and engineering, forest ecology and outdoor cooking. With California’s seismic history in mind, we test the strength of student's engineered bridges. We look for macro- and micro-invertebrates as we teach freshwater biology at our pond. Students also learn about aerodynamic principles as they build and launch rockets around our property, located on 74 scenic acres in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains in Southern California, just 90 minutes from Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange Counties. We utilize an ever-growing low ropes course, two high ropes courses and our Quad-Zip Lines to foster and encourage personal and social growth in our students. Students and teachers participate in an overnight science camp style field trip, from three to five nights. Students stay with our staff members in comfortable cabins that feature bathrooms and showers, as well as radiant floor heating. Teachers stay in semi-private lodge accommodations, with internet access. Teachers enjoy a relaxing experience while learning alongside their students, and love being able to observe the changes that an outdoor setting causes in their students.
