About Palm Springs Toastmasters Club
Come talk with us! We practice Public Speaking together on Zoom. Palm Springs Toastmasters meets on Tuesdays 6-7:30 pm. We're a supportive and inclusive club! Guests are welcome to visit free of charge with no pressure to participate or join. Toastmasters offers its members the opportunity to learn public speaking and communication for achieving real-world goals. Is Toastmasters for me? Whether you're running a business, pursuing fundraising, managing a department, leading a group or serving customers Toastmasters is a low-cost, self-paced program with no long-term commitments. What is the club experience exactly? Our meetings have three parts: I - Prepared Speeches: each meeting is an opportunity for two members to give a short speech about 6 minutes long. II - Spontaneous Speaking: the group is led through Table Topics which is an opportunity for members to give impromptu answers to questions of a topical light hearted nature. III - Evaluations: The prepared speeches are evaluated by more experienced speakers with constructive feedback delivered in a positive, supportive manner. Other aspects of club meetings offer the ability to assume club meeting roles, such as Timer, Grammarian, or Ah Counter; as well as eventual opportunities to take on club leadership positions such as Club Secretary, or Club President! Toastmasters will give you an opportunity to practice communication skills and gain the confidence you need to effectively express yourself in many real life situations. You’ll improve your interpersonal communication and be more persuasive and confident when speaking. By learning to effectively formulate and express your ideas, you open an entirely new world of possibilities.
