About Pan Pacific Technologies

Pan Pacific Technologies was established as a consultancy for biotechnology in Denver, Colorado in 1988 by its founder, Dr Eric Dunlop. Since that time, it has grown to become a private, family-owned company based in Adelaide, Australia with an international reputation in the biochemical and bioprocess engineering sector, particularly in the commercialization of biofuels from algae. With more than thirty-five years working in industry and academia, Pan Pacific Technologies has wide-ranging experience in industrial bioprocess technology in fermentation (bacterial, algal, plant, insect and mammalian cells), biological separations and downstream recovery. It has most recently developed a series of Techno-Economic models and advanced simulations to test the economic viability and optimization of innovative technologies in biofuels and bioproducts. Pan Pacific Technologies' work in this area was recognised by its acceptance as a full industry partner in National Alliance for Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts (NAABB), a 40 organization consortium of leading scientists and engineers from universities, private industry, and national laboratories working to further the U.S. Department of Energy’s effort to spur the creation of the domestic biofuels industry while creating jobs. Pan Pacific Technologies has also been closely involved in the development of broader applications for algae in the nuclear energy sector. Our patented technology uses algae for the recovery of uranium and other radionuclides from aqueous solutions and non-conventional sources. It presents one approach for the further development of a sustainable and environmentally sensitive nuclear industry.
