HELLO PAOPAO In recent years, there is a growing trend of female consumers going back to their roots and embracing traditional outfits for Chinese New Year and weddings. PaoPao is a born out of a need for a modern, stylish take on the traditional Cheongsam for these occasions. The designs cater to the modern women who wants an updated, traditional look with a twist. Currently, PaoPao only produce one Chinese New Year collection annually in limited quantities. We are committed to slow fashion and take pride in ensuring high quality materials and detailed workmanship. THE PAOPAO DIFFERENCE • Oriental inspiration. Combination of Chinese, Japanese and even Korean influences. • Play of structure and folds which adds a dash of edginess to traditional design. • Experimentation of fabrics and poppy colour combination. • Easy to handle fabric, that is wrinkle resistance and machine friendly. • Pockets! THE SPARK BEHIND PAOPAO Paopao is the brainchild of advertising industry veteran, Run Run - a creative director known for her midas touch in handling beauty & fashion accounts. “Pao” is actually derived from “Qipao” which means Cheongsam in Chinese. “Pao” (袍) on its own means ‘robe’. Coincidentally, Pao also shares the same pronunciation as Run in chinese, which is how some people call Run Run, aka Pao Pao (跑跑）.
