About Papatoetoe Adolescent Christian Trust
The purpose of PACT is to “journey with at risk rangatahi by providing essential support using preventative and mana enhancing approaches that encourages and empowers them and their whānau to reach their potential”. Every year we work with at least 600 tamariki and rangatahi. The foundation of the work we do in the Papatoetoe Community is in 7 local schools where we’ve been trusted to work with at-risk students for over 25 years. PACT Youth Workers work with vulnerable young people facing challenges from Primary School to Intermediate and into High School. In addition to the in-school youth work we run various complementary programmes in our own community building (leased from Auckland City Council) located in the heart of Papatoetoe. We develop and run programmes based on feedback received from young people and activities that contribute to increased social skills, resilience, self-belief, and wellbeing. For most of these complementary programmes we don’t receive any direct funding and use general grants and donations received from individuals and churches.
