About Parent Coaching Institute
The Parenting Coaching Institute (PCI) is a global organization offering Parent Coach Certification® for family professionals; parent coaching services for moms and dads; and consulting and specialized programs for companies and organizations. Parent educators, child care directors, teachers, counselors, social workers, retired teachers and administrators and community health workers--those professionals who have experience working with families as well as an undergraduate degree, are invited to apply to our one-year, graduate-level, personalized distance-learning parent coach training program. The program consists of 4 courses as well as a supervised practicum for parent coaching practice and meets the varied needs and learning styles of busy professionals who want to delve into a comprehensive parent coach training experience. Upon enrollment, students have access to an on-line portal where they download PDFs and audio lectures for each course as well as examples of the coaching sessions as they study and examine the PCI coaching process. Students should consider spending 5-10 hours a week for course readings and assignments. In addition to the learning tools on our student portal, students meet twice monthly with their cohort and instructor for 1.5 hour discussions (via Zoom) to share their insights and questions about what they have been studying. Students attracted to our program are intelligent, creative, and dedicated professionals. Hanging out with them in cyberspace is energizing and rewarding. Each student is assigned a colleague in his/her time zone that can serve as a study buddy to discuss course content outside of the scheduled cohort conversations. Often friendships for life are formed with cohort buddies! Upon graduation, PCI offers an extensive network of a worldwide community of PCI Certified Parent Coaches® and an on-line directory for coaching client referrals. PCI pioneered parent coaching, setting the highest standards for certification.
