Our venture into the moving business happened accidentally. My own mother, a sales director in senior living for most of her career, had a family in need of help. The husband had advanced dementia and his wife had serious physical limitations. Their two grown daughters also had physical restrictions, making them unable to help their parents make the transition into assisted living. The family had no other friends or loved ones to help pack, move, and clear out their home. As my mom mentioned this families situation, my husband and I offered to help, even though we weren’t quite sure what that meant at the time. I’ve always been one to plan, organize, and execute tasks, plus I think my years of experience as a homecare nurse made this a natural decision. I’m used to working with different families and caring for patients, so it was an instinct to help this family. Meanwhile, my husband Brian had spent many years in the restoration business. He was familiar with clearing, moving, and restoring properties. His experience proved to be extremely help. The gratitude and peace of mind this family felt after our help sealed the deal for us! After this experience, we knew there may be other families in need of this type of service. We have since helped hundreds of families transition their loved ones—whether families had no time to plan and organize a move for their parents or they were feeling overwhelmed and did not know where to begin. Together, we started a service that helps seniors and their families make the transition to senior living as stress free as possible!
