About Parenting Children with Special Needs
The publication was voted #1 Pediatric Resource by US News in 2016 & 2017, which goes to show how even on a local level it is getting nationwide attention. Since, I started publishing this magazine in June of 2010 there has been so many stories shared and many stories that left a legacy of love on all the readers hearts. There is a huge emotional attachment I do tend to take on with families, which makes me vulnerable and transparent in my own life. For example Jude Lausten, I simply started by sharing the journey of this amazing fighter of life and the dynamics of this awesome family, which recently lead to me sharing a life story of a child taken before our understanding. You know you are close when you make house calls, and even honored to be asked to speak at the service by the parents. To me this is not just business it’s personal, each child/ parent I talk with leaves something extra special on my heart. There are more happy moments than tears (well sometimes) and being able to see it happen while sharing my own story every issue has been life changing. The best thing is see families who just pick up the magazine for the first time, find their child looking at them as they hold the magazine, flip through it and crisp onto every word, every issue because this is our life. Parenting Children with Special Needs is the truth and stories between the rainbows and storms.
