About Parknet F.M.B.A.
Parknet F.M.B.A. is a member association. It was established in 2003 as a spin-off of a citizens' initiative in Copenhagen, which aimed to provide fast internet at a reasonable price to the area's housing associations. The first fiber was dug down along a park at Nørrebro, and hence the name "Parknet" arose. Today, almost 500 housing associations, companies, antenna associations and others in the Greater Copenhagen area have joined Parknet. In line with this, our fiber network has been expanded to approximately 40,000 connections. However, the member culture is as intact as the original vision. All members have the right to attend the annual general meeting with one vote per subscription, and can thereby influence Parknet's development. In this way, Parknet's members not only ensure that Parknet as an organization is characterized by openness and transparency. They are also a safeguard against sudden price increases and other deteriorations of Parknet's services.
