About Partnership for the Arts and Humanities
The Partnership for the Arts and Humanities is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) cultural arts organization that works in collaboration with the Canton Commission for Culture, Arts and Heritage. The Partnership shares the mission of the Commission encouraging the development of the arts in our community by providing artists with financial support, advocacy and education. It has awarded over $900,000 to The Village Theater resident groups as well as cultural education events for Plymouth-Canton Community Schools. The Partnership is committed to expanding the arts in Western Wayne and Eastern Washtenaw counties, especially now with its recent purchase of Henry Ford's Village Industry- Cherry Hill Site. Placed on the National Register of Historical Places as a part of the Cherry Hill Historical District in 2003, this 14 acre property includes a residential WWII veteran’s dormitory and a 50,000 square foot factory. Our goal is to transform this property into a visual arts center that will include veterans, arts, education, historic preservation, economic development and environment. In essence, creating a Regional Arts District for Southeast Michigan in Canton.
