About Passionist Earth & Spirit Center

We are devoted to teaching contemplative practices like mindfulness, meditation, and a deep connection to the natural world. We work for the flourishing of individuals, communities, and our living Earth. We welcome and honor people of all faiths, identities, and backgrounds. We foster transformation through self-awareness and personal growth. We respond with engaged compassion to human suffering and to the suffering of the Earth community. We are one of the largest providers of mindfulness meditation instruction in the Central United States, offering meditation courses to thousands of students every year. Backed by scientific research, mindfulness meditation has been proven to help people learn to self-regulate, de-escalate conflict, reduce stress, improve health and longevity, manage addiction, bolster self-esteem, secure and keep jobs, manage depression, reduce anxiety, and experience life with greater calm, clarity, and compassion. Our Mindfulness Mentors program provides pro-bono mindfulness instruction through collaborative partnerships with over 40 local social service organizations and schools. Our Camp Odyssey program engages campers each summer in activities that teach a more mindful and compassionate connection to self, others, and the natural world. Our Earth Literacy programs teach care for the Earth through environmental classes and workshops, internship programs, and hands-on learning at our 27-acre campus, a certified wildlife habitat. Our Contemplative Spirituality programs offer opportunities to be spiritually enriched and to engage in world-changing work. Our Social Compassion programs focus on healing across divides and seeking understanding. Our Racial Equity series strives to move beyond education to mindful action and do our part in dismantling racist systems, healing racial wounds, and helping create a more just and inclusive society. We are dedicated to mindfulness education as a crucial component to healing.
