Patents Real Fast launched its Flagship service, PRF Query, to engage university students and faculty in the necessary patent and technology research needed to bring their innovative ideas to commercial reality creating new products, new companies and jobs. PRF Query offers a simple to use service to find relevant keywords and build complex search queries. We make this service available to all students and faculty at a low flat fee. Each researcher can now write more accurate idea descriptions based on their industry knowledge and search results. Quality descriptions are critical to an invention disclosure and save universities significant time and patent costs by focusing their limited resources on the best ideas. PRF Query allows a researcher to extract the relevant search keywords from a written description and then automatically builds a particular, complex keyword query for over 60 search sites. These sites include a broad range of free and paid keyword web search sites from Google Scholar/Patents to professional organization websites. Each of these sites has their query syntax to construct complex queries for keywords targeting the researcher desired specific information. PRF Query gives WPI, SMU, UTA and others a simple tool for their faculty and students to do practical patent technology prior art searches with little or no patent search training. PRF Query provides a subscription service to the entire university at a total cost less than the per-user subscription fee of commercial patent search sites. PRF Query allows the researcher to search multiple technology and patent databases without having to learn the particular query syntax of each database.
