About Patera

Patera Nusantara Lestari Foundation (Patera) is a non-profit organization initiated by young observers and researchers with backgrounds in natural resource management who have contributed to various organizations since 2020. Our fundamental concern is to actualize the sustainability of natural resources and intergenerational justice. In a socio-ecological system, humans and the environment are one unit that interacts with each other. These interactions underlie ecological and socio-economic problems such as poverty, human conflict, and natural disasters. Alternative frameworks of thinking and action are essential to enact a more holistic and transformative approach among all the mainstream resolutions. We think natural resource and environmental management issues need to be viewed in various scopes (practical, political, personal) and enacted in multiple approaches (structural, systemic, enabling) to define the root causes and resolution congruently with the underlying problem.
