Pathways Preschool follows the Reggio Emilia approach to learning. This child-directed, play-based philosophy encourages children's natural curiosity and learning through a playful, enriching environment. Locally owned and operated, Pathways Preschool in Tempe provides early education for children aged 3, 4, and 5. Pathways Preschool’s vision is to help children through the Reggio Emilia approach. The Reggio Emilia philosophy and approach to early childhood education has developed and continues to evolve as a result of over 50 years of experience within a system of municipal infant-toddler centers and preschools. Educators in Reggio Emilia believe that children have the right and the ability to express their thinking, theories, ideas, learning, and emotions in many ways and various outlets. Pathways Preschool will provide children with a wide range of materials and media to aid in their learning experience. We will welcome and encourage a variety of experiences, so that children encounter many avenues for thinking, revising, constructing, negotiating, developing, and symbolically expressing their thoughts and feelings. Dr. Schoppet has dedicated her life to the education of children. Her passion lies in helping children at their most formidable age grow emotionally, intellectually, and socially. Dr. Schoppet’s vision is to help create the first of many stepping stones creating the most passionate and empathetic leaders for today and twenty years from now. Dr. Rosalind Schoppet earned a Doctorate of Education Degree in Superintendency with a minor in Higher Education, a Master of Arts Degree in Principalship, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. In addition, she is certified in special education. She has over twenty years of experience in elementary education as a teacher, special education as a coordinator and teacher, assistant principal, principal, and adjunct professor.
