About Pathways to Healing
Pathways to Healing is a private, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, incorporated in 1983. One of 15 rape crisis centers in South Carolina, PTH advocates for and supports survivors of sexual assault and abuse in Richland, Lexington, Newberry, Clarendon, and Sumter counties and educates the community to identify and prevent sexual violence. Our Mission: Ending sexual violence through advocacy, education, and supportive services. Our Vision: Healthy survivors, thriving in a community free of sexual violence. Our Goals For Pathways To Healing To ensure that survivors are respected, valued, and their voices are heard. To boldly lead the effort to end sexual violence in our communities. To be diligent in meeting the two critical components of the mission: directly supporting survivors through their healing and educating the community-at-large. To operate collaboratively, with other organizations, for the greater good. Our Core Values CompassionAccountabilityInclusion Who We Serve Sexual violence affects people regardless of race, ethnicity, class, sexual and gender identity, religious affiliation, age, immigration status, and ability. Because survivors of sexual violence may experience the abuse in culturally specific ways, our counselors, educators, and advocates have received training to support survivors who represent the diverse communities represented in the Midlands. This includes, but is not limited to: LGBTQIA+ Survivors Survivors with Disabilities Deaf & Hard of Hearing Survivors Hispanic and Latino Survivors Immigrant Survivors Survivors with Limited English Proficiency Survivors of Human Trafficking Teen Survivors Survivors Serving in the Military Male Survivors Trafficking Survivors Secondary Survivors Professionals Exposed to Sexual Trauma
