All the annuities used for the client are fixed annuities, in other words all are guaranteed. There different classifications fixed annuities available: MYGA – gives a guaranteed at a fixed rate for a fixed period then roller for a new period at a new current rate. You can then take your money, roller over at the new rate or transfer to another insurance company without paying taxes. FIA Annuity – Fixed Index Annuity – The returns are based on an index (Ex. S&P 500) If the index goes up you get part of the upside if the index goes down you do not lose any principle and the index is reset for the next time. This is simple explanation and not the only crediting option available. Your money is not in the stock or bond market the indexes are used for crediting calculations only. Immediate Annuities - Made strictly to pay income Ex – Period Certain 5yrs, 10yrs lifetime etc. Since annuities are tax-deferred, you only have a taxable event when funds are withdrawn. Most clients use multiple products or strategies to accomplish their goals. Each client’s plan provides the optimal outcome based on their goals, time period, future events, concerns and other factors.
