This is exactly what local entrepreneur Emma Garrett had in mind when she set her sights on transforming the somewhat neglected park pavilion building into a dazzling café, recently described on Trip Advisor as a ‘five- star gem’ and ‘an important part of life in Bedford’, and in the Waitrose Good Food Guide 2017 as ‘a thriving community hub serving delicious home-cooked meals using ingredients sourced locally and combined imaginatively’. The cafe is open from 9am, 7 days a week, serving home-cooked food using locally sourced ingredients. The all day Breakfasts have become a welcome addition to the Bedford culinary scene and the venue has really taken off as a quirky location for evening and daytime functions - from the regular gourmet supper clubs to private parties - christenings, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries - there is nothing quite like a party at the Pavilion.
