In 1997, after spending several years in banking and brokerage industry, Kurt Rickhoff decided to join the family accounting firm to help his parents fill a technology void. Among his first tasks was to find an avenue to offer direct deposit to their payroll clients. Shortly after finding and establishing this service Kurt and his parents decided to focus on building a payroll service bureau to help service the neglected small business market. In 1998 they formed a joint venture called Total Business Solutions with plans of growing and expanding their services. The focus on customer service fueled growth and a need to invest in the industry’s leading software in 2001 keeping them on the technological leading edge for small businesses. In 2008 we changed our name more fitting of our services to Payroll Central. Mindi Rickhoff joined the accounting firm in 1998. She was an integral part of the early transitions and now is President of the company. Payroll Central Inc now offers many of the services and products the national companies offer with a local presence and personalized customer service. We have a staff of 4 employees that maintain almost 300 Clients. In 2017, we outgrew the accounting firm’s building and now reside next door. With almost 20 years of experience, we have the ability to personalize a payroll solution to fit almost any company. We offer a wide range of products and services including Direct Deposit, Electronic Tax payment and filings, Automated Time & Attendance, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), Background Screenings and Poster Compliance solutions. These offerings partner well with our online payroll solutions to fit your needs while giving you control and security from one centralized and secure web-based location. Payroll Central’s client base if mainly located in the Metropolitan St. Louis area but can service a client in any state in the United States.
