About PDFM
PDFM (Pacific Architects & Engineers) is an American company, founded in Japan in 1955 to provide architectural, engineering and facility maintenance services. By the mid-1970s the firm had become a major international provider of facility operations and maintenance services, and the headquarters were moved to Los Angeles. PAE Design and FM was established at that time to continue the firm's operations in Japan. PDFM 's architecture and engineering group has designed an extremely wide range of buildings, which in many ways has mirrored the post-war development of Japan. Starting with an emphasis on infrastructure and industrial buildings, PDFM moved to office and apartment buildings in support of foreign investment in the 1980s, shifting to an emphasis on interior design and workplace restructuring in the post-bubble era, to a renewed support of foreign investment in the last few years. PDFM's facility management group has evolved from custodial and maintenance services to a full FM services provider, including life-cycle cost control and IT mission-critical systems performance assurance. PDFM provides FM services to a wide range of diplomatic, office and retail clients.
