About Peace Arch Hospice Society
Hospice is about living. When you or your loved one are told the illness you have may end your life, Peace Arch Hospice Society is here for you with care, compassion, information, resources and people who can help ease the pain and stress. We offer emotional, practical and spiritual support, inclusive of all cultures, faiths and beliefs, to the residents of the Semiahmoo Peninsula and their families facing advanced illness, grief and end of life. Peace Arch Hospice Society is a community based, registered charitable organization that complements our community hospital, home and residential care. Our trained Hospice Society Volunteers provide care and compassion, and improve the quality of life for so very many at a most vulnerable time , when facing daily life can be difficult. Whether it is simply a cup of tea and a chat or more in depth help that is required. Our Hospice Society offers professional counselling for individuals, their families, and friends. We have many Programs and Services, including support groups and relaxation therapy to help manage stress and increase comfort. Our Vigil support is available to help families cope as their loved ones near death. Children's grief support and counselling is available, as well as youth programs. We also have available a lending library of books. As a registered charity we have the need to constantly fundraise through grants, events, the generosity of our individual, local business leaders, local service club organizations, supporters, legacies, securities in-kind donations, and help from our Thrift Store.
